Michael's Story

Life Life Things have changed significantly since I posted in here last. We made a move from the Branson area to a little town in Kansas, Gridley, where I held the position of Minister at the Christian Church from April of 2006 until September 2008. At that time, the Board let me go (no real legitimate reason given for releasing me; I think I started stepping on toes in my sermons!). The people had no say in the matter, which I find strange in a church. Anyway, we moved from there to LeRoy, which is 15 miles away, so the step-daughter could stay in school at SCC. I am still looking for a full-time job, having been forced to take a part-time one for the time being; but you all know part-time don't pay the bills! I don't think it will ever change! School I guess I was a strange child - I loved school! I would've gone 12 months out of the year if I could have! I always said that if I could go back to any year of school, it would have to be my freshman year at Ashland - specifically, the band trip to Topeka. And I would do a couple of things differently than I did on that trip. They involve the biggest crush I had in school - Valerie. 'Nuf said! Mr. Hill and Mr. Harms were probably the 2 biggest influences I had in high school. Mr. Hill for his journalism class, and Mr. Harms for the music. The best thing I remember about high school, though, is the trip to Eurpoe the summer of 1974. Seems like just yesterday I got off the plane in Denver after 2 glorious weeks in Europe. Yeah, school was a blast - and I could do it all over again.
