Richard's Story
Life
I graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1975. I then attended Air Force pilot training and flew F-4's in Okinawa, Japan and Phoenix, AZ. Next, I became a Forward Air Controller (FAC) for a couple of years working with the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, NC. I left the acitve Air Force in 1981 and joined the South Carolina Air Guard. I flew 15 years with this unit flying the A-7 and mostly the F-16. I retired from the Guard in 1995. ways. I have flown the B-737, B-767, F-100, F- 28, and now the Airbus A-319,20,21. It has been a tough couple of years for the airline business. I am happy every two weeks when I receive a paycheck. I hope the airline industry recovers someday. I am fortunate to be married to the former Ann Bazemore from Beaufort, SC. We have two children, Erin, a Sophomore at UNCW (Wilmington, NC) and a son, Harrison, a high school Junior. We live near Charlotte, NC. We would love for any former classmates to drop by if you ever pass through the Carolinas.
