Marie's Story

I graduated Northeastern University School of Nursing June 1986 and joined US Navy same day. Spent 8 yrs active duty at National Naval Medical Center Bethesda MD, Naval Hospital Beaufort SC and NH Camp Lejeune NC. Met and married my current husband Phillip October 1989, left active duty 1994 and settled in central Florida where I continued my military time in US Naval Reserves where I was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and I was active duty during Operation Desert Storm, Desert Shield. and Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom with specialty in psychiatric casualty care. fter more than 22yrs in January 2009. My civilian career in nursing has been providing home health care for geriatric patients and recently promoted to Clinical Nurse Manager for a national home health agency with whom I have been employed since 2000. My husband and I have 2 daughters, the eldest Sara graduated high school in 2013 with honors and is currently studying for degree in Diagnostic Ultrasonography. The youngest just turned 13 and continues her studies at local Christian school and desires to become a theatrical makeup artist. (we will see if it changes over the next several years)
