Susan's Story
My husband Jerry and I live at the base of the Big Horn Mountains near Sheridan, Wyoming. I retired after 30 years of teaching in May, 2005, and since then, I've worked with Jerry and built a jewelry designing business.
I became a grandmother March 11 when Michael Thomas Odom was born to my son Aaron and his wife Jessica. They live in Seattle, but will move home to Sheridan this September, when Aaron will become the drama coach at Sheridan High School, working on the stage he graduated from in 1998.
In high school, I played alto saxophone in band and orchestra, and sang in our church choir (St. John's Lutheran,) but not in the hs choir because of schedule conflicts. I did sing in special programs at school, though, so some may remember me fro...Expand for more
m that, too.
I dated Dennis Odom (from Lawton HS) all through high school and college, and we married in 1971, but divorced in 1991. After I graduated from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion in 1971, we moved to Wyoming, and I've been here since.
I married Jerry Baker in 1993. He works for the State Department of Education as a consultant for the visually impaired. He is legally blind himself, having been born with toxoplasmosis, caused by his mother being around cats during pregnancy. I drive for him for his job several days a month, as he hasn't driven since he finished graduate school.
I'm very happy, and I'm excited about the class reunion this summer. I hope many of us attend, and I hope to see many of my old buddies there!
