Carol's Story
I married my high school sweetheart in 1968. We had two wonderful sons. We lost our oldest when he was 21 in an oilfield accident. I ran a beauty shop for 20 years. I drove a school bus while my boys were in school. After we lost Scott and Steven went to National Guard and college we moved to Westview Boys Home and were houseparents for 3 years. Then Don's mother went into the resthome and we moved to Wellington to be close to her. I went to work in the grocery store where I am now manager. I have worked there 12 years....Expand for more
I lost the love of my life after 40 years this summer to cancer. I now go to my 3 grandsons football games and anything else they are doing. We were blessed with a beautiful grandaughter last year and she is the joy of the family. Steven and his family live here in Wellington and I am blessed to have a wonderful daughter-in-law. I don't know what I would do without my family right now after losing Don. My oldest 2 grandsons live in Quanah so we make a lot of runs to games and activities. Wouldn't have it any other way.
