Martha's Story
June 2016. Still traveling, while $ and health last! Just returned from Costa Rica, where we had a fantastic time. The outrigger canoe on the Pacific coast; watching the scarlet macaws in their natural habitat,; zip lining through the rain forest; visiting a coffee plantation; eating a pineapple out in the pineapple field..how fresh is that!.. ; and so much more. Time to get to work in a couple of weeks at Tanglewood, where I'll be busy until, after Labor Day. Then in the air again to visit son in Montana.
12//2012 How quickly time goes by. Have spent many hours at the computer researching and writing my family history... it's finished for Xmas.. now another year ahead. WIll leave Saturday morning for a cruise to the Carribean for the holidays..then it's back to the gym to get in shape for a hiking adventure this spring on the Appalachain Trail..on an Elderhostel/Road Scholar. My oldest son is a thru-hiker, but I'll be happy to experience a few days in Pennsylvania. Actually the AT goes by my front door on its' way thru Dalton, so I joke that I hike it every day!

da and Montana, and then possibly a Xmas cruise to the Carribean. Have been searching family history; plan to visit cemeteries this summer in the Adirondacks to verify dates etc.

Well, since last post I have finished my weaving program, also been to the Netherlands, and am off to Iceland in a few days. Still enjoying life... switched summer jobs from Shaker Village to Tanglewood, which allows me to hear all of the concerts. Anyone remember Jean Broderick? She instilled a love of music which I still carry.
Life
Life is too short.. too much to do.. too little time left to do it!
"Retired" .. work part time as an interpreter at Hancock Shaker Village, usually as a weaver.
Would like to travel more..hike more.. camp.. take more photographs.. could fill another life time with things to do!
6/08 Completed a 4-year, 600 hour weaving program at Hill Institute; with hard work and some luck will complete, and pass, independent study requirements and become a "Master weaver."
Going to Peru in April 2009; hope this is the first of many more trips; Antarctica, Scandinavia and Iceland looking like fun.
Also started African drumming classes; bought my own djembe, and drum with a group twice a week.
There's always something else to become interested in.. I don't believe we're ever too old to stop dreaming, learning, growing.
Just returned from Peru.. Macchu Picchu, other ruins, river rafting, shopping.. great place to visit.
