Victoria's Story
Life
First, and most important, made it to 5 feet!!!
Living in upstate NY and designing/developing training programs in the banking and finance fields after careers as an elementary school teacher and then commercial banker. Lived and worked in NYC, Rochester (NY), Houston (TX), Philadelphia, Tokyo (Japan), Taipei (Taiwan), and Hong Kong. Traveled extensively in East and SE Asia.
Keep in touch with several classmates and sometimes hear from Mr. Devereaux.
Bought my first house in 2001 and am having fun fixing it up, etc. Finally got my Doberman whom I've renamed Bogey since he's short, dark, suave, and "de-bone-aire". He and my cat Miss Pookey have a truce going so things are peaceful.
Added May, 2005:
Miss Pookey died last June. It was a terrible tragedy due to a young, incompetent vet who was not being supervised properly. Totally needless and quite devastating. However, I did adopt another cat in December and named her Rosemary. She is a real delight and gets along well with Bogey.
Speaking of Bogey, he and I have recently been certified as a therapy dog team and will be starting service so...Expand for more
on. I'm as thrilled as if we had won the Nobel Prize!
Added November, 2008:
My beloved Bogey died in September. He had bone cancer and when the pain became unmanageable I had to euthanize him. I was devastated.
However I really missed having a dog so I just adopted another doberman from the same place I got Bogey (Doberman Rescue Unlimited in New Hampshire - they have a website but you're not allowed to include them on Classmates). I've named him -- hold your hat -- "Attila the Honey." He looks pretty much the same as Bogey but his personality is quite different. Basically, he has absolutely no house manners. He runs everywhere and, of course, knocks things over. He also jumps up on furniture. So for the time being he has to be tethered in the house. Otherwise he is very lovable and very social. We're working on his manners and I expect that he'll become everything he's menat to be. Gets along well with Rosemary although he can't understand why she isn't as enthusiastic about play as he is!!!
