Denise's Story
Life
I have one daughter. I am the proud grandmother of two handsome grandsons.
Workplace
I am retiried from Verizon as of July 4, 2010. The Union negotiated a retirement offer I couldn't refuse. I worked for C&P of maryland, Bell Atlantic and Verizon for 35 years and 8 months. Some of it was good but the last few years the company lost its compassion for the customers and the employees. Now on to bigger and better things.
I am active in my Union and currently I was on the Bargaining team for Verizon negotiations. I have been involved in an active union capacity since 1986 but have always been a member. I enjoy helping people, assisting in solving their problems and organizing them to have a say at work. I also enjoy being active in politics to protect working peoples issues.
My favorite way to relax is to read or watch movies.

cessful in fighting for workers rights. Mother Jones and Grace Leonard. They truly gave their all and fought for the proper treatment of workers.
I haved lived in several places since Brandywine. My favorite place was in Churchton with a view of the Chesapeake Bay. Currently, I live close to the water off the South River. It is peaceful.
I love kittens and cats. I have one cat currently.
Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect, my biggest surprise is being in leadership roles, overcoming shyness and having a stronger self esteem.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the entire house by knocking down some walls and adding a second story.
I am a parent and I have learned to have more patience from my grandkids.
I would love to see Mr. Adcock the guidance counselor from high school. He was a good influence.
If I got a do over I would finish college and get a degree.
