James's Story

Life Life? Well, I've been married five years now, and have a 15 year old stepson and a three year old toddler son (who will loudly inform you that he is a "big boy", and at 41 inches and 40 pounds he is!). Volkswagen man - we traded in her '93 Civic and my '95 Golf on a 2003 Toyota Matrix, which has proven not to be "Toyota reliable" at all - four warranty claims in the first three years, including a blown transmission at 40,000 km, make me think we may not be keeping this car as long as expected. I'm taking a year's break from being an active Scout leader, after six years of Cubbing and four of Scouting. I'll be back next year when the little guy will be a Beaver! Still, the outdoors has a real pull for me - I expect I'll be one of those old Scouter type who can never give it up, maybe I'll die with my paddle in my hand. Winters, indoors, I still mess about with model trains, though the time for this has been very limited these last few years. This coming winter, though, I will do more.
