Dave's Story
Greetings Fellow Red Raider,
Time goes by so quickly and now I find myself collecting Social Security, What Happened!!!!
After graduating from Loup City HS, I attended Hastings College & Kearney State College (now Univ. of Nebr. at Kearney) I got my B.A. in El. Ed from Kearney and taught 8 1/2 years in Hastings. Went back to Kearney during the summers and got a M.S. degree in Ed. Admin.
I met my wife Lois, in college and we were married in 1969. This began my real education and the greatest adventure of my life! We moved to Hershey, NE in 1978 where I served as the El. Principal for 11 years. In 1989 I took a position as El. Principal at Buffalo School in North Platte, NE, where I served for 14 years. es and a talented gentleman, graduating from college with careers of their own. They are our finest achievements and continue to be our greatest source of pride!
In June of 2003, I retired at the age of 56! Something I highly recommend. We still live in Hershey, Nebraska where I work 3 hours a day as office manager of our church parish office. I also putts around in the garden, travel with Lois and play with our grandsons. Two of my grandsons live in Gothenburg and two live in Holdredge, so we get together frequently but not enough.
Life has been very good to us, as I hope it has been to you. If you have read through all of this personal drivel, I assume it is because we knew each other in a time gone by. I hope we shared happy memories. If so, I would like to hear from you again.
