Gina's Story
UPDATE
So much has happened, yet it seems like the same things happen over and over again. Anyway, here it is 2008 and I'm still in school. Boy, I wish I would have formed better study habits in school. Well, I'm an LPN. I received my Assoc from Neosho Co. I work at a Long Term Care Facility (fancy name for a nursing home). Finally in my last year of RN classes at Labette Community in Parsons (actually hope to be graduating in Dec. 2008). It has taken a toll getting here. Can't believe 20 years has gone by, but sometimes it feels like it's been longer!!! School took a toll on my life, which included my marriage. Hate that part. Now I live in Independence, KS. All I seem to do is work, sleep and go to school. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Hope all is well with all of you!!!
Life
My life has taken different turns since graduating from CSC. I lived in Goosecreek, SC for a year. I took a summer course at WAVTS for automotive technology. I spent a year at Sterling college. I went back to WATVS for another semester in automotive. I then went to work at a law firm for 9 years. In the meantime I got married and had 3 children and 1 by marriage. Now I'm going back to college. I will be taking the general ed. classes required for an associates degree in nursing. I live in Fall River, KS and go to school in ...Expand for more

School
Spent my first year at CSC, then moved to Howard, KS and went to Severy until 4th grade. The family moved back to Wichita, where I went to Baptist Tabernacle for one year. Then it was back to CSC until graduation. From what I hear from other people, I may be alone in saying that I enjoyed my school years. I had several friendships that have lasted to this day. If I could go back and redo any of my years in school I would probably start at my junior year. But we all know too well that no one can go back. We can only learn from past mistakes!
College
I enjoyed college a little too much the first go-round. I did enjoy my time with the Women's soccer team. Those were some fun days! But, alas, I did not make the school work a priority.
Now I am preparing for another go at it. This time, I'm more focused. In three years time I plan to be the recipient of an Associates Degree in Nursing.

Workplace
I didn't enter the workforce until I was 22. I worked a few miscellaneous jobs prior to working at the law firm. I worked there for 9 years, at different levels. I met my spouse at work. His mom was a secretary at the firm.
In September 2002, I took an opportunity to leave and spend time with my 3 children. Now I am looking for full-time work and planning to attend college in the Fall (2003).
