Wow, after a very long time of being raised by my three fantastic kids, I went back to nursing school at the age of 36. Prior to that, I had worked for the Philadelphia Daily News. Held a marketing/sales supervisory position; with the last four years there supervising teamster truck drivers with a sales district from Washington DC to New York City. Loved it! Got tired of the 24/7 beeper life, but also knew that the newspaper business was headed for rough times and that utopia wouldn't last. (And it didn't). Have been a Labor and Delivery nurse for the last 15 years. There's something unbelievable about being the first person to place hands on a new life taking it's first breath. (Doc's don't always get there in time). Wish I had kept count! I tell them they owe me a lobster for every baby I catch for them. I've never collected, but I could feed a small village.
