Kimberly's Story
Life
My mom thought it would be a good idea for me to go to UK to get away from the boys so I could focus on my studies, lol! She was right, except while studying, I met Travis, my now husband. My mom now credits herself for me finding such a sweet caring and funny man. While at UK, I joined a sorority and was house president. Looking back, those were the best days of my life. I graduated with honors from UK in 1995.
We got married the day of the flood, March 1, 1997. Had a beautiful dream wedding, then off to Hawaii for our honeymoon. Who ever said it was good luck if it rained on your wedding day was right.
I then went on to EKU, where I graduated in 1998. I moved back home to be closer to family prior to starting a family. I am a Registered Nurse and work high risk Labor and Deivery and women's surgical services. I love what I do, what could be better than bringing new life into this world.
I did lots of traveling before starting a family (mom's good advice!)Got my wish to travel to Paris and see the real Mona Lisa.

car and kept asking when I was going to get one? Well I now drive a BMW. I have to laugh, cause I used to never care who's car I borrowed or what it looked like, just how fast could I actually get it to go!
After six years of marriage, God has blessed Travis and I with a perfect little angel named, Ella Grace. Ella weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 4oz. and was 22in. long! It was a rough delivery, but she's been nothing but healthy. She's been the best thing that has ever happened to us. Funny how having a baby really does change everything! What used to seem important, just isn't anymore. Travis and I joke about how we never knew we could smile this much! My future plans are to have more children and continue to work part time while being a mom. Being a mom has been the hardest, most rewarding job so far. I credit the person who I am today to God, who never left me through all my mistakes and hard lessons. I also give credit to my best friend in the whole world, my mother. She never gave up on me and told me I could do and be whatever I wanted to be. Thanks for reading my bio!
