Jeff's Story
After high school, I attended Co-Lin and tried my way at the business sector. Not for me at the time. I had some growing up to do. I joined the Air Force in 1991 during the gulf war, but before I get to deep in that, let me back up. I met the love of my life my senior year there at Brookhaven High, Melissa Dollar. We met the summer before my senior year and were instant friends. We started dating in October 87, dated for 4 years and were married August 31, 1991. 38 days later I entered in to military service and didn't see her again until Christmas and then only for 2 weeks until she moved to Biloxi, MS, when I was stationed at Keesler AFB. We lived there until June 92 then I was assigned to Kelly AFB in San Antonio, TX. We lived there for 3 years, until I was transferred to Pensacola, FL for 6 months. During that time Melissa came back to Brookhaven. We were then transferred to Anchorage, AK for 4 years. We left Brookhaven December 26, 1995 and drove all the way to Anchorage. n Anchorage until January 11, 1996. We remained there until December 1999 at which time I separated from the Air Force. We returned to Brookhaven in January and returned to Co-Lin. That was very strange, returning to college after 10 years away. It was very funny how things had changed, for instance, in Calculus in 1988, Dr. Daughdril would not let us use graphing Calculators, but on Day 1 of Calculus in 2000, Dr. Daughdril (same instructor) held up a graphing calculator and told everyone that if you don't own one, you will not make it. Melissa and I moved to Columbus, MS in June 2000, where we bought a boat for the lake and renovated our house while, I attended MSU. After two years at MSU, I was offered a job in Bentonville, AR working for a Networking Company doing Project Management, I have since been promoted to Operations Manager and then to Solutions and Design for the Company VP. As of Jan.09 I am the new Resource Manager. Awesome promotion!Melissa and I celebrated our 17th anniversary in Aug.08 and are looking forward to 18.
