Andrea's Story
Ok, so I'm browsing the classmates website and the free 7 day trial offer pops up. Wow, I'm taking advantage of this one. The only problem is that I had to place a post-it note on my computer to remind myself that if I choose to cancel it needs to be in seven days.
As I'm writing the post-it note reminder I'm thinking...ok...is this because of the age factor, staying busy, my OCD self, or is it simply because I've lost brain cells from having three children? I'm gonna choose none of the above...I simply enjoy seeing post-it notes all over my desk and fridge (what great colors they now have)...yeah right, it's actually a combo of all of the above.
Life has treated me well, blessed me with a great job, three great children (21, 18, and 12), a wonderfully fantastic, hard to find, true Man, and two really big, wonderful, spastic at times, dogs.
I teach 6th grade language arts, or as it was when we were in school, simply English. Some people know it as communication skills. Which I find rather interesting..now a days the kids just communicate by texting, emails, or chatting. Go figure. I love teaching, and love the kids. I've been with 8th graders, but was offered a job teaching 6th graders...and trust me, I was thrilled! I als...Expand for more
o love the high schoolers (their in world all of their own...lol) It'll be a nice change. By the way, for all the parents out there.....we know every little thing about what goes on around your home! Don't think your getting away with it...LOL.
I guess I'll close and continue walking down memory lane. What great times and funny memories! I'll leave you with this closing thought: Just when you think you've got everything under control....you go to the grocery store (no makeup, work clothes, tired, paint all over you), you're just making this a quick trip, you run into someone from school!!!! For some reason, they remember you, but honestly....you just can't remember their name!!! Then it dawns on you, I can't believe I look this way! OMG!!! You play along with them (knowing you don't remember), say your goodbyes, pay for the groceries, get in the car and say to yourself, "I can't believe this! Of all times! What are they going to tell so and so about me?" Oh well, if their in the same boat as me...(41), they won't remember it anyway.....LOL. By the way, post-it notes fit great into pants pockets or pocket books!.........Stay positive, have fun and laugh....it's one of the only things that gets you through!
