Richard's Story
Life
Aloha from the incredible shores of Maui, Hawaii. My beautiful bride of nearly 28 years, my angel from Coconut Creek High, Debbee Farawell and I are living the life of our dreams here.
After establishing and running several businesses over 20 years and raising 2 incredible sons, Rickey and Zak, now 26 & 25, I decided it was time to get a job. After moving to the Smokey Mountains in 1996, I began selling timeshare in Gatlinburg Tennessee in 2000.
I became successful enough to be recruited by one of the biggest companies in the industry here in Maui and it was an offer I couldn't refuse. We moved here in January 2004 and now own a beautiful home a block off the ocean 1 mile from my job at the Embassy Vacation Resort on Kaanapali Beach, where I was #1 my first year.
Debbee is one of the most creative people I have ever met and is now creating her own art studio at our home. She enjoys making all types of Native American and Hawaiian metalwork, paintings, sculptures, etc.
Rickey blessed us with our first grandson, Adante' Michael Richter on 8/5/2002 and Zak is marrying his Fiance, Tiffany on 9/12/2005. We're ...Expand for more
sending them to Europe for 2 weeks for their honeymoon.
To fill the empty nest, we recently added Fiona, an umbrella cockatoo to our family. Looking forward to creating and living more dreams from here. Aloha from Paradise!
Time for an update. Retired from my incredibly successful and lucrative job in Maui earlier this year (2013) and moved back to Florida (Orlando) from Maui! I know, I'm crazy, but all is moving in a very good direction. I am now a Certified Dream Builder coach helping others design, create and live the life of their dreams as well as pursuing my dream of becoming a speaker and writer. We have three grandsons now, 11, 6 and 3. Life has also chosen to take Debbee and I in different directions as well, we divorced a few months ago but are both still good friends and although we are moving in different directions, ultimately, it will be the best thing for both of us.
It is fun to hear how some of my high school friends have navigated the challenges of life now and then and, who knows, maybe I'll run into some of you again one day! Until then, create an incredible life for yourselves!
Aloha, for now, Rick
