Tim's Story
Life
Yo and hello!!
Never did actually graduate high school though I passed the GED test in 1974. Was married and living in Howell, MI when I joined the Army and left Michigan in '75. Spent time as enlisted, then went to Warrant Officer flight school and became a helicopter maintenance officer/test pilot. Flew Cobras and Apaches. Also divorced and remarried, and retired in Alabama 1995.
Returned to Michigan 1996 and went to work for Ford as a Maintenance Supervisor in the Dearborn Stamping Plant. Moved from Melvindale to Waterford in 2000 and, along with wife and two sons, got involved in road racing at the Waterford Hills course until 2006. Bought a cabin in Michigan's UP in 2007 and that is our vacation getaway.
Retired from Ford in April 2014 and now enjoying my time ...Expand for more
remodeling the garage so I can get involved in road racing again, using the boat and new float tube for fishing and spending time up north. We may eventually move up the the UP.
Life has been a wild ride, and a lot of fun! Drop me a line!!
Military
Joined because as a young man, I needed to learn some discipline and I knew it! Spent my first six years as enlisted and in the communications repair field. Then attended Warrant Officer Flight School and flew Cobras and Apaches. Was a maintenance officer and test pilot for both aircraft. Spent two overseas tours in Germany and made the trip to the Persian Gulf War in 1990-1991. Retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Three in Alabama on April Fools Day, 1995. Returned to Michigan in 1996 and finally settled in Waterford, MI in 2000.
