Terry's Story
Life
From HS I went to Western Illinois University and studied music education and performance. After graduation I taught in Chicago until they cut music out of the school I was teaching in. I ended up traveling a few years with some professional musicians and enjoying the heck out of it, but it got old quickly. (I hated waking up wondering what time zone I was in.) a ton of fun. However I made no money, and never slept. I ended up landing a teaching job in Crystal Lake and I've been there ever since. In 2005 I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Masters Degree in Music Education. I still perform in Chicago and abroad, but I don't let it interfear with my teaching position. I am currently working to be a National Board Certified Teacher, and I also work with the IEA/NEA on the issues that face education. No Child Left Behind has kept me quite busy.
