king sgt e-5. I met my wife, (deceased) there and we were married by a German Judge. (She was american and could never read our marriage certificate.)
I was reassigned from Germany to Edwards Air Force Base as the crew chief on the XC142 vertical takeoff aircraft. I was convinced by the commander to go to Officer Candidate School in 1968 from Edwards AFB. I was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Field Artillery after completing OCS.
I was then assigned to Fort Dix New Jersey where our son was born. I then went to Korea as a First Lieutenant and upon completion of that tour I was assigned to Fort Hood Texas.
I was promoted to Captain upon that assignment and from there it was off to Vietnam. Medevaced to Saint Albans Naval Hospital in New York. I went to the Officers Advanced Course from there and after completion I was assigned as an instructor in the Field Artillery School. I was later promoted to Major and I finished my career in 1978 at the Artillery School.
Do not ask me about Viet Nam. I do not talk about it to anyone.
