Tom's Story

Life - Graduated Charles Town High 1956. - Presently living in Richfield, MN, a first-tier suburb directly south of Minneapolis (since 1968). - US Army November 1956 to October 1959, mostly at Fort Monmouth, NJ teaching microwave electronics. - Married wife Nancy in 1960, three children (Ed, Kent, and Sheri, all living near). - Worked for Control Data Corp. 1959-1989, senior computer systems engineer and technical instructor on mainframes and peripherals; wrote courseware and technical manuals; licensed trade school instructor in Minnesota. - Cubmaster, Scout troop committee, unit commissioner, roundtable commissioner, assistant district commissioner, trained in all ...Expand for more
areas; awarded Cubmaster of Year, Committeman of Year, National Honor Commisioner Award, Order of the Arrow Brotherhood, Woodbadge; 1972 to 1989. - Worked for University of Minnesota as a temp, then full time, retired 2002; union member of AFSCME. - Former member Richfield Police Reserves, retired 20 years; trained as Trauma First Responder - Currently member Minnesota Streetcar Museum since 2003; active in reconstruction, maintenance and operation of antique Minnesota streetcars on two operating museum lines. - Licensed as a Extra Class Amateur Operator, active as N0NMU; currently member SkyWarn, Richfield Amateur Radio Club, Amateur Radio Emergency Services, ARRL.
