Amy's Story

Life Lets see i'm still married to Marcus Lucachick. He is still in the airforce going on 8 years now. First we lived in Maryland for 4 years and loved it. Being so close to washington DC was great and I never thought I'd say it but i miss the place. Then we moved to Seaside California for a year so Marc could have extra training. We lived about half a mile from the ocean which could be seen from our neighbors back yard. It was very beautiful but I can't say it's a place I would want to stay. We moved to Georiga in January of 07 and purchased our first house. Marc has plenty to do at work and seems more needed here than at his other stations. We had our first child in March; a girl named Amber Rose. She is increadably cute :) with big blue eyes. But every parent things their child is beautiful. Most of the time we just enjoy the baby or go for walks. The summber is very hot so going outside during main daylight hours is awful. But the weather in the winter was nice not dipping much below 50 for the most part. We did see frost once though. I stay at home and take care of Amber and feel very lucky that I am able to. I know day care is nessicary and I don't think it's evil or anything like that, but I can never get this time back so I'm glad marcs job lets me stay at home. We have been married for six years and it just gets more entertaining every year. The military keeps you moving but the moving means your never board because you don't stay in the same place long enough for it to get "stale". We arn't sure if he will stay in and we have two years to decide. It will really boil down to how much we l...Expand for more
ike Georiga. Thanks for looking; can't really think of anything else to say. School Honestly i don't remember much about highschool beyond that i couldn't wait to get out and go to college. And then you realize how easy you had it right? I would definatly have been more of a partier if i knew then what i know now. College I don't have my bachlors yet :( I went to mesabi tech and got my a.a. and then got married and moved to Maryland. I started school here and went about a year (if you think Minnesota prices are high for school you should see Maryland and add in that somehow i have never mannaged to qualify for financial aid and my parents never helped me and it just drives me nuts to see kids complain that they don't get enough spending money or some crap like that when their parents are already paying for college... just my little vent there). Anyway, after that year of classes at a local MD school I was told it would be at least 3-4 more years just to get my bachlors in education because Maryland requirements were so different from Minnesota. Well I told myself I am not spending the 50-60 thousand that four years at a major Maryland collge would take only to get a job that pays 25000$ at best starting, but more like 15000. So i'm waiting until the military moves us to a more accepting state though now i am also thinking of changing my major especially if the next state tells me the same thing. But if I had went to college outside of mesabi and while i was single i imagine it would have been a blast. Military Somehow i don't think military wife counts under this one, though we do put up with alot.
