Norm's Story
Life
After high school, I wasted away a couple of semesters at BYU majoring in girls and beer. This major not one that the draft board accepted caused me to receive an invitation to see Southast Asia. I spent a year in Vietnam as an infantryman in the 1st Air Cav. the last 4 or 5 months in the hospital recuperating from wounds. ted a few months. I remarried in 1980 and on Oct 1, 1981, I changed my life and as of this year, 2006 I will have been clean and sober for 24 years. A few years after 10/01/1981 ie...about 6 years sober and with 5 kids and still married, I graduated from the University of Utah. I am the Director of Transfusion Services for Intermountain Healthcare's Urban South Region. I have 7 grandkids now, and a great granddaughter, and still married to the same wife that saw me at my worst.
