Alyssa's Story
Well, I have moved several times since I left Laurens, NY. I spent 2 years in Canton, NY getting my Associates Degree/ Veterinary Technician License. Then I moved to Oswego, NY for 3 years where I received my BS in Zoology and worked at a small animal veterinary practice part time first, then full time after graduation. And then it was off to bigger and better things and I moved to Reston, VA, just outside of DC. I spent 3 years at the largest and finest Veterinary Hospital in Virginia. But even on a Manager salary city life proved to be way too expensive! My next stop took me to Lake Wylie, SC. I was only there for a year. I hated my new job with a passion. Next stop Lincolnton, NC... my current location. I bought a house so I am fairly stuck to the area for now unless our economy suddenly picks up... lol! I worked for a year and a half as the Manager of an animal rescue which recently close...Expand for more
d due to the poor economy. But I have already found a new job as the Manager of another animal rescue. And I start at the end of the month.
Well, thats my life in a nutshell. I spend all my time working. And if I'm not working I'm spending time with my animals. There is ButterBall, my orange cat that has been with me since my first year in college. And yes she lived with me in a pet friendly dorm.
Then Koko (my lab mix), Reeses (my male cat), and Chessy (my beagle) all moved in while I worked at the vet hospital in Oswego. It's very important that I mention they were all adoptions/ rescues... not pet store finds or breeder buys. And last is Sweetie, a shepherd/ collie mix that was supposed to be a foster dog. She was a completely feral 4 month old pup when I took her home last March for rehabilitation. She is now a 75% rehabilitated 14 month old family member. actaylor6cool at oohay dot moc
