Ray's Story
Life
After college, which took way too long because i kept switching majors ... business ... forestry ... and finally engineering and computer science, I went into Computer Design. I designed the flight computer for the F14 Tomcat fighterjet and went on to pioneer more microprocessor designs. Later I did some software distribution, marketing, had a retail store for 10 years in Santa Clara, CA, and finally ended up doing lots of consulting. That is, before the Internet started getting hot, and in 1994 got hooked on it and have been doing Internet advertising and marketing since.
I married Lynda Sandford (Dominguez 1964) in 1974 and we had three boys who are Mark, Mike, Brett. Mark is an Engineering Manager for Sun Microsystems, Mike teaches high school math and science (and coached football for many years), and Brett is studying for his Masters in Environment Sciences and working for the Peace Corp as a local director. Lynda taught elementary school for 30+ years and worked as a Travel Age...Expand for more
nt for 20+ years. We divorced in 2001.
I founded and ran the Christian Athletic Association, Inc (CAA) in San Jose, CA for 25 years serving over 10,000 kids in three sports year-round. Through CAA I organized many, many mission trips around the USA, Europe, and Mexico. I was involved with a mission/church organization in Mississippi, called The Mendenhall Ministries, for about 30 years helping with their youth and computers and eventually serving on their Board.
Right now I live in Oklahoma and doing my Internet work and trying to travel as much as possible. While here I have been researching my Cherokee background and my other grandparents background as an early Oklahoma pioneer.
I am sponsoring several International students during their college stay, two from Europe and one from Asia.
Well, that's enough, I'm not so comfortable with so many "I did this and I did that" but I guess it's necessary for a Bio. If you are or were involved with similar experiences please let me know.
