Douglas's Story
After high school I spent a couple of years sputtering around. After one particularly poor semester at U of H I received my draft notice. I actually had a great time in the army. Had it not been for a years soiree in south east Asia I might have remained in the army.
After leaving the service I moved to Baton Rouge, LA to open a business with my brother. I spent several more years in business for myself in sales but was never really happy.
I made a career change in the early eighties and started working as an inspector in the chemical plants. I was happier but still lacked something. I opened my own residential construction company in the mid eighties and found my calling. I have been building and remodeling homes ever since. I learned, like so many...Expand for more

I met my wife soon after moving to Baton Rouge. We were married in a catholic church in her home town. I mention this because catholic girls from small towns in south Louisiana do not venture far from family. Hence, my forty years in Baton Rouge. She continues to tolerate my everythings bigger in Texas ways and I tolerate her crawfish eatn' , gumbo lovin' Cajun ways.
My wife passed away in 2016 and after 49 years in south Louisiana I moved to Kerrville, TX
I play the occasional golf game-that way I am only occasionally bad-and catch the occasional fish.
I am spellbound by the bio's of the grads of our class. I am pleased to see how well many of you have done.
