Deborah's Story
Ever since college, I got stuck in the financial services industry and went on to Graduate School at the U of St. Thomas. Ended up thinking I would land a position at General Mills or a local international company after getting a Master in Finance and International Management. Nope that did not happen. I was now over-qualified. So I am stuck in this industry but have the second best job now that I landed a position with Kiley Parnters, Inc. I work from home in Lakeville, MN and get to see my kids off to school-or one at least and the other I get to bring to pre-school. Boss is in Palm Beach, FL. I am now a Bond Research Analyst and manage the company from home. Check out our website at kileypartners.com.
Aside from the boring job stuff, had a great time in college at the U of MN. Did not see many people there from HHS. Met a lot of great friends and still keep in touch from time to time. Travelled Europe, Studied in Spain and saw the 2000 olympics in Barcelona Spain and the World Fair which was also in Spain that year.
Eventually got married in 1997. Married a Mexican National. He had two kids and would I do it again?? Only if he didn't have two kids. It is very challenging for those of you who know my story think I am crazy. I agree now.
Still love to go to Acapulco, where a few of us went on our senior trip. Believe it or not, the people we met then still work there up until last year anyway. Our annual trip with my parents, kids and friend Heather (went t...Expand for more
o Como) is the only trip where I can let it all out and party all night long and wake up with a good spin and take care of my kids all day and do it all again the next night. The rest of the year, well do not get out much since I am running with the kids to this and that.
Now living in Lakeville, MN. great neighborhood and tons of kids.
For those of you who know my mom, she has had a rough three years. Three years ago, she had a kidney transplant. This was due to allthe high blood pressure and cholesterol meds. NEVER take what the doctors tell you to take-do alternative research please. It has helped me. As a result. the anti-rejection meds has a warning-could cause cancer. Well she got it! After her first year after the kidney transplant, they did a whole physical and found out that she has stage 4 lung cancer -spreading to her liver. That was in in March of 2007. Gave her 6 months. To this day she is still fighting and is amazing. Her attitude and my kids are what is keeping her with us. She is convinced it is not her time yet and she still has things to do. She is doing what she can. She is weak and it is very difficult to see your parents go through this. Many of us have already seen it and gone through it. My thoughts and prayers go out to Michelle, Cathy and Joette. Those of who I know thus far.
Well as soon as I get picture savvy, I will post an updated picture of me and my kids.
Please come to the reunion. It will be fun.
Regards,
Debbie
