I have a 20 year old daughter, Erin, who is in her 3rd year of a 5 year University program for a B-Comm. She lives with me full time and holds down 3 part time jobs and maintains a 3.5 average in school. She is fluently tri-lingual, English, French, and Spanish and now she is taking Japanese. She has her brown belt in Karate (10 years of training) She has 4 years of piano and 2 years of dance. And, she is the absolute joy of my life.
Her dad, who I divorced in 1987, is currently battling cancer. At only 47 it is extremely tragic. Erin is very close to her father... he is a terrific dad. We all pray he will pull through. We almost lost him in October. He has good times and then something else goes wrong.
I live in one of the most beautiful areas in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is a Condo complex and the condo's are built like row homes,...Expand for more
grouped in fours. I am a hop, skip, and a jump from the river, public tennis courts, bike path, fitness club, and any restaurant you could want. All the outdoor work is covered by condo fees, except shoveling snow. I need the exercise, so I don't mind as long as I don't have to mow grass, pull weeds, or paint...
We have a little Shih Tzu dog, Jasmine, who is 10 years old already. She's still pretty frisky for her age and knows all the tricks including singing for her treats. Hershey is our 6 year old guinnea pig who gave us a real scare over the holidays... but she's back to normal eating us out of house and home. She too is very frisky for her age.
After 25 years here in Canada, I finally obtained a "permanent residence card" so I can go back and forth across the border between Canada and the US with less hassle.
I have travelled a fair bit. I've been to Europe, Belize, Mexico, Hawaii, Tahiti, Newfoundland, Montreal, Vancouver, and I lived in Los Angeles, California for 3 years before I moved to Canada.
Erin just took her first trip to Mexico with three of her school girlfriends this past January. She really enjoyed it and found her ability in Spanish really handy as she ended up translating for the rest of her group on a regular basis.
And that would be it for now.
