Beverly's Story
Life
My education started in 1940 at Oakenwald North Elementary School, on the Northside of Chicago. My parents moved to the Eastside in 1944 where I attended Matthew Gallistal Middle School; graduating from there in 1950. I proceeded to attend Bowen High School and graduated from there in 1954. I married right out of High School, moved to Indiana, have a son, now 54, daughter 52. I divorced in 1960, remarried in 1963. I have 3 terriffic step-children. 57,50 and 46. My husband is retired from the Budd Plant in Gary, Indiana. We did Painting and Decorating also. We moved to Tennessee in 1982; my husband was born here and we decided to return here on his forced retirement;(Budd Plant closed) we opened a Truckstop and Restaurant here in Tennessee and ran it for 6 years. l factory and then retired from that job after 7 1/2 years. Took 3 years off. He is currently working again as maintainance man at our local McDonald's, just started his 12th year there. Tapering off of painting and decorating. Together we have 16 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 7 great grandchilden. We have the four seasons here, very little snow, if any; which we are glad of. Have not regretted moving to Tn. We are right in the middle of everywhere, We make short trips in
all directions. We enjoy gardening, we are busier then we have ever been. We still enjoy a good movie and eating out on weekends which we haven't missed doing in the 49 years we have been together.
Remember the troops, and wear something RED on Fridays in support of them until they have all come home. IN GOD WE TRUST AND GOD BLESS AMERICA.
