Maureen's Story
Life
Since graduating from High School I worked for an oil exploration company, Santa Fe International from 1972 - 1985. After they moved to Alhambra, I went to work for Admar Corp, a managed health care company, and was in charge of Office Services from 1986 - 1995. I married my long term boyfriend Bill Krueger on May 1, 1988 in Hawaii.
I commmitted my life to Christ in 1989 and worked at North Orange Christian Church from 1995 - 2006. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2002 and have been on disability since July 2006.
I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, & traveling. My husband & I host a Bible study at our home once a week and I have taken three missionary trips to the Ukraine (2000, 2005 & 2007.) I am a member of a garden club and love to go to the theatre.
My life has changed dramatically over the past 30+ years because of the love, peace & joy of the Lord that has filled my heart, no matter the circumstance. I have learned that I am of value not for what I can do, but for who I am as a child of God.
School
I attended Holy Family Catholic School grades 1st - 6th grades. My favorite teacher was Sister St. Augustine - 5th grade. In 3rd grade I was selected one of the students to go see the filming of Mickey Mouse Club. I was disappointed that I didn't get to see any of the mouscateers. I attended Yorba Jr High 7th - 9th grades. My friend Sandy & I went to every school dance in the 9th grade, but were never asked to dance. We were the typical wallflowers of that generation. I played violin in Junior High, but never practice...Expand for more
d enough. In senior high I enjoyed hanging out with my friends, but didn't do much studying. Managed to stay out of too much trouble and was the only one of my friends who graduated with the class in 1972. After graduation I had had enough of school, so did not go to college.
Workplace
I worked at Santa Fe International, an oil exploration company from 1972-1986 as mailroom clerk, mailroom supervisor and building services supervisor. After Santa Fe relocated from Orange to Alhambra California I went to work for Admar Corporation a Managed Health Care Company, from 1986-1995 as Office Service Supervisor, Manager and finally Director of Office Services. In 1995 I went to work part time for North Orange Christian Church as Office Manager. In 2003 I resigned as Office Manager due to health issues. I worked part time at the church, but have been on full disability since July 2006.
I now am a Creative Memories Consultant and host scrapbooking workshops in my home. I enjoy helping others to save those memories for their own enjoyment and for future generations. I helped my mom to make a memory album beginning with her great-grandparents & to write down the information for each picture.
We adopted an orange tabby cat in October 2007 and named him Kherson (Cur-sawn) in memory of the street kids in the city of Kherson in the Ukraine. This is our first time having a cat and I now understand "cat people." Kherson has so much personality and is a real talker. I'm thankful that God has placed him in our home to give us so much joy.
