After 25 years as a German car mechanic in Charlotte, I have completely changed my path. In 2019, I started a Substance Abuse counseling program at the local community college, and I am now employed at the county detox and treatment program.

mechanic started out fun, but eventually became miserable, however the money was too good change. As I got older, I knew I needed to change something for my mental health. So my pay is now half, and my mental health is double, so kind of an even trade!
