I was very quiet in school. Not really fitting in with any of the groups, I fell in with the misfits. I holed up in my room most of the time playing guitar, mostly Rush songs. The only class I really liked was Art class. I couldn't get into punk, like my friends at the time, it was a polar opposite. I did love the energy, though. I was in a couple of bands that never really went anywhere. The biggest show we had was the 1987 Forrest air band show in a band called Shatterd Image. Rhonda Peavey was our singer, Alan Miller on drums, Larry Jackson on the other guitar, and Brian Pannel on bass. I can't remember who was playing keyboards. We played a lot of hair band stuff like Guns & Roses, but I did manage to get a Cure song in. Just like Heaven was my favorite song at the time. After a failed attempt at a start up Carpet Cleaning job, I wound up at Southeastern Aluminum Products running a saw. It was a factory that made shower doors and screens. We had about 30 people in the plant at the time. Over 20 years later, I'm still there. I've been a Supervisor for almost half of that time, and the company has grown immensely.
