Dora's Story
School
Going to Fairfield was a wonderful experience. Attending a smaller school gave me the advantage of knowing everyone in my class as compared to the larger school I transferred from in Orlando in 1967 where there was over 700 students in my 7th grade class. I will cherish the memories of our Senior class play, "No Boys Allowed", our class trip to New York and Boston, and the friends I made. All the good times riding over the mountain in the yellow VW Bug to the soccer games, hanging out in front of the drugstore, some of our teachers like Mr. Varish, Mr. Smith, Mr. Carty, Mrs. Cunningham,...Expand for more
Mrs. Beale, and how can we ever forget our beloved principal Richard Straup. I wish everyone could have school memories like mine.
Workplace
I have worked for the Orlando Police Deaprtment in the Communications Division for over 23 years. I am #2 in Seniority. In 2002 I was selected as 1 of 50 dispatchers out of 1200 applicants from across the U.S. to volunteer at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. I spent 3 weeks in Park City sleeping in a RV in the Wasatch mountains and was able to attend the closing ceremonies. It was the experience of a lifetime. It is a trip I will never forget.
