Denise's Story
Life
Didn't finish school - dropped out in 10th grade and tuned into Laguna Beach until my twenties. Actually ran into a few classmates from Walter Reed while there!
Spent time in Michigan, South Dakota, Nevada, South Carolina and ended up a desert rat (since 1984) in Arizona.
I finally outgrew my gypsy ways! I work for a mom & pop electronics manufacturer in Tempe AZ as a computer programmer, though I don't really think of it as work.
What I remember:

Rainy day PE class: "Go You Chicken Fat Go", levatating
5 (or was it 10?) cent apple machine
Drama class (David & Lisa, improv, Chinese story - vaguely)
MIA bracelets
Narcs on campus

Coffee shop across the street
Ditching class to go to the beach
Absolutely nothing regarding any classes!
"Jesu...Expand for more
s Freak" bus to the beach for 25 cents during summer.
Getting busted on campus & hauled away by police (I was at school to meet someone at lunchtime, got there early & was questioned about why I wasn't in class. Came up with a not so brilliant lie that I wasn't a student there and that I was visiting from out of town. They assumed I was a runaway from somewhere & called the cops! It never occurred to them that I might have been a student).
Recently went back to Laguna Beach after almost 30 years for my 50th birthday. Was lucky enough to run into a couple of old friends.
I miss California sometimes, but am patiently awaiting the big quake that turns my desert dwelling into beachfront property!
The rules of life that I live by:
1. Question Authority!
2. Nothing lasts forever!
3. Do unto others what you would like done for yourself.
