Jennifer's Story

Life I moved to Georgia in 1996 right after reuniting with the man that was to become my husband. After less than a year in Georgia, Jim (my husband) and I decided it was time to move me to Illinois where he lived. I started working for a Pharmaceutical company in Indiana and we moved there so I could be closer to my job. While at the pharmacy, I attended school full time and went through my first pregnancy. In the summer of 1999 I graduated with high honors in three degrees and in the fall was blessed with the birth of my daughter Kyrsten. The following February, my father offered Jim a job as an Appraiser and the opportunity to take over the business when he retired. I chose to stay home for about a year and then began babysitting so I could ...Expand for more
work while continuing to be with Kyrsten. Missing being in the adult working world, I acquired a job working for USA Curling (the National Governing Body for the Olympic sport of Curling). In 2005, my family was graced with the presence of my second daughter Taylor. We decided that due to the difficult time getting pregnant with Taylor and a difficult pregnancy, that our family was complete. I recently left USA Curling to work as an Underwriter for Travel Guard. I live in Amherst where Kyrsten attends Amherst Elementary School as a 4th grader and Taylor will be entering as a Kindergartener in the fall. Jim now owns Newman Appraisal Service and has renamed it US Appraisal Service. I am looking forward to a long and prosperous career at Travel Guard.
