Susan's Story
Life
I graduated from Patapsco High School in 1982 and got married on July 1, 1983; my husband and I recently celebrated our 25th anniversary. We have 2 children, Elizabeth 18, and Billy, 15. Beth graduated from Patapsco High and Center for the Arts (as it is now called) in June and majored in Photography and Child Care. Billy attends Kenwood High and Sollers Point Tech for Carpentry and loves to play the guitar and play soccer. My husband and I were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses in 1994 and we enjoy working in the ministry. In our spare time (when there is any), we enjoy bowling, playing games with the kids, web surfing and computer games, and of course we are avid RAVENS football fans!!! GO RAVENS!!! I currently work as a customer service representative at a local school supply company. I would love to hear from anyone who graduated from St. Mary's (Govans) between 1976 and 1978 and anyone who graduated from Mercy High in 1982.
Workplace
Like high school, my careers have varied as well. I worked at Cooks Department Store for 2 years when I graduated high school. After they closed, I went to work as a nanny for 1 year old twins and that was interesting! After two years, they moved so I ...Expand for more
got another job as a nanny for a 6 year old boy and 2 year old girl. After that, I worked at RCA/GE as a Customer Service Rep, calling people to renew service contracts. This was evening work, so I got another nanny job for an infant girl during the day. Next, I worked as a telemarketer for Special Olympics, and Fiber Clean Carpet and Upholstery Cleaners. In 1988, I got another job as a nanny for the infant son of 2 doctors and it was a great job! Even though they moved to PA, we still keep in touch! When they moved, I was "passed on" to another doctor, a pediatrician, to watch her infant son. I got pregnant with my daughter soon after, and did not work again until 1991 when I worked at Caldor at Golden Ring. After I had my son in 1993, I did not work again until 1996, when I did volunteer work at the school my children were attending. Eventually, I ended up getting a paid position there as a tutor/subustitute/classroom aide. I also 'worked' as a member of the PTA, serving in every position, except Treasurer. In May of 2004, when my son graduated, I left there and went to work for Raymond Geddes & Company (a local school supply company) as a customer service representative, where I am currently.
