Kimberly's Story
Life
Me and Mitch recently moved to Dayton, NV. I like it here! We also got married, and have been trying to have a baby for the past 9 months, I got pregnant once, but lost the baby at 12 weeks, so maybe by Christmas we will be pregnant again! We hope! We have a puppy named Chumba. He is a pain in the butt. Really he is. And a spoiled cat, Karma. I've been working from home, selling custom made scrapbooks. I really enjoy it, and in the next year or two, hope to branch out to include other paper crafts as well. I love creativity. I have a blog at seriouslydaisies.blogspot.com, if you wanna know what is going on in my fun filled life, go and check it out. I post several times a week! Anyways, thats all for now!!! Hope to hear from you!
School
I came to Amador halfway through my junior year. I was new to town, I moved from Southern California, where I was home schooled, and even a little school like Amador seemed huge to me after that. I was shy, and quiet, although I found out later that a lot of people just thought I was snobby and stuck up. Oh well. The only person I knew was my cousin Alisha Hemenway, so I hung out with her and her friends. I went to junior prom all by myself, the guy I wanted to go with had a date, and I refused to go with anyone else. I had fun though. I met Ben Hazen there. We dated for a few months, until he went into the Air Force. Then senior year started. I took cosmetology school the first half of the year. So I only had one class a day. I had a lot of past issues I had to deal with, and I was very depressed in school, I even tried to commit suicide. I missed a lot of my senior year, and barely graduated, but I had people there for me, and they helped me through that rough time of my life. One of my teachers Mr. Redkey, was the greatest. I don't think I could pinpoint any one instance, but he just believed in me, and understood me, and didn't judge me, and that meant a lot. My second person was my boyfriend at the time, Shane Hobaugh. He was my best friend. And he was always there when I needed to talk, or anything. We had a lot of fun. He took me to senior prom, and we walked together at gratuation. We were ...Expand for more
the last 2 to be called for our diplomas. We split up about 6 months after gratuation. After being together for almost a year. I've been with Mitch Young (he graduated form Calaveras in 1999) ever since. School was rough for me, and I wouldn't do it again. But there are things that I miss, it wasn't all bad. But life goes on!
College
I'm not a school person.. I never went to college. And.. I don't plan to. It might have been fun, maybe useful, and a little part of me regrets it, but mostly I don't.
Workplace
About 3 months after graduation I got my first job. At K-Mart. You know I think every family has had at least one member that has worked there! In this town at least. Mitch has worked there, so has his mom, and grandma. Oh... and as for my family, my mom, sister, aunt, grandma and cousin have all worked there. But I was the first. The job was ok most of the time, you know just a job. But boy did me and my co workers have fun. I became friends with a lot of them, and my best friend Andrea Whitlock worked there with me, so we made work as enjoyable as possible. Finally though I had enough, and I quit, without notice. I didn't work for several months. Then I got a job at Safeway. I started out as a courtesy clerk. I hated being a courtesy clerk, but I stuck it out for a year and a half. Then there was a open position in the booth and Jenny wanted me. So I got promoted... yay, no more carts in the rain, and cleaning bathrooms. Eventually I became a head clerk. But after 7 years of working there, I moved away and decided not to transfer (due to a pay cut and crappy benefits) Although I am not with Safeway anymore, my best friends are still my old co workers. Like Carrie, Meada, Courtney and Rena. I guess when you work with someone that long, they are bound to become close friends! Now I work from home. Everything is new, but I love selling my artwork, it is amazing. My business name is Seriously Daisies. And although it is not much now, I have big dreams for what it will eventually become!
Military
Nope, too scary, and not me at all! But I am very thankful to all the people that are brave enough and willing to fight for our country.
