Laura's Story
Life
After college, in 1992 I married a banker and we had one child. My daughter, Caroline. In 2000, when my daughter was two years old, my husband of 8 years died from cancer.
About 6 months later, I attended Spruce's 20th high school reunion where I saw David Travis. I was madly in love with him my senior year but he broke my heart and moved on without me.
We started out going to movies together but I told myself that I couldn't see me married to David. We began officially dating a few months later and he talked me into marrying him in 2001. We now live in Forney. I am presently working as a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker, Apex (part time).
I also do free-lance photography for our local newspaper, The Forney Messenger. Caroilne has also started helping me during varsity football games. She thinks she is so grown up with her pass to get onto the field! And she looks it too with that huge camera hung around her neck!

years ago and plan on building our dream house after our youngest gets out of high school. We enjoy going out there and staying in a small trailer that we bought for weekend visits. I love to fish out of my pond and mow all that space with my tractor. I can do that for hours! We just love the quiet of all of it and watching wildlife. We saw a deer on our property a few weeks ago!
My daughter Caroline (11) is a competition cheerleader for a local team. She won two national competitions last year. Our oldest daughter, (my step-daughter) Kayla (22) is a Registered Nurse at Baylor Hospital in Irving where she works in the newborn nursery.
We have a few pets--David's 18 year old cat, our dog Sadie (shetland sheep dog) and a big, fat, floppy earred rabbit, Trixie!
I was sad to hear that Spruce had to change mascots and take up the apache head in the foyer of the school. Now they are practically closing the school down. So sad.
I would love to hear from my classmates and wish that more would post photos!
