School
God only knows how much I hated waking up to go to school. Although everyone knew who I was (Coach Hopkins' granddaughter), I wasn't very popular. I wasn't attractive... I wasn't even cute! I recall being called names like "too tall", "Skinny Minnie". I also recall guys laughing behind my back and saying things like..."... Put a sack over her head." Those things were mean- true. But you know what? They have made me the wonderful spirited person that I am. I look to treat people in a way that they will always feel good about themselves. People who knew then and see me now are amazed!.... Heck, so am I. I made it out of CHS and CROCKETT. And in the words of Tupac... "I ain't mad atcha!"
College
OH MY GAWD!!!! Texas College was the BOMB!!!!! I sooooooooooo enjoyed EVERYDAY I was there. My major was music ON PAPER... and partying ON WEEKENDS! Most people that went to TC while I was there would remember me by "The girl with that pretty baby. You know the one that hangs with Tony McQueen and Lisa Hamm!" name?), Mr. Harvey... what I wouldn't give to be back at that point in my life. One thing that I didn't do when I was at TC that I would do is.... date DARRYL TARGLETON. "TC TC God bless your heart. To my TC that I love so true!" Where is Shorty!? and Brandon Bowman? and Buffy? and Angie Doss? and T-shaun!!!!? "....to my TC that I love so true!"
Workplace
As you my have noted, I am currently working for Easter Seals- Central Texas (ESCT). Here at ESCT, I am an Employment Consultant for persons with disabilities. In other words, I place disabled adults in a competitive work environment. There is a lot of networking involved in this job as most of the participants in the supported employment program have little or not work history. It's a very tough job, but SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT. I have serveral contacts in the community with Senators, Lawyers... I enjoy "dropping names". It's funny to me how people will blow you off until you say a key name. Then to watch their entire attitude take do a 180... I nearly burst into tears just watching the REaction. People! We are sooo funny.
