Jennifer's Story

Life Hello classmates! I can't believe it's been 15 years! I moved out west in 1997. And I've adapted to the desert climate and city life here in Las Vegas, but the Gulf Coast will always be my heart's home. After getting my Associate's Degree in Computer Science, I stopped short of my BS to pursue other interests. Since 2002, I've loved my job managing a health-related website. And I've also been studying nutrition and holistic healing. In the summer, I like to swim, hike, rollerblade, and sail. And I spend a lot of my time writing, playing piano, tutoring kids, and painting. And as my mind has an endless thirst for knowledge, I'm always reading, anything from chakras, astrology & numerology to physics, black holes & global ecology. I am mostly involved, however, in the arts of healing. People tell me I can't save the world, but I'm determined to make a difference. And there's no wrong time or place to improve a life, so if you've got a minute, read on.. I find myself distraught at the widespread oblivion to our own demise. And I can't relate to the people at the top who fill innocent people's heads with fatal lies. I'm talking about the FDA, USDA, Big Pharma, many doctors, etc. People put their lives in the hands of strangers because it requires no effort, plus "everyone else does" so it must be alright. (Everyone else is also dying prematurely of preventable disease!) Part of me feels sorry for victims of malpractice, disease, and abuse. On the other hand, I have a hard time accepting the indifference, ignorance, & laziness of it all because there's really no excuse. Cow's milk does NOT do a body good (unless you're a baby cow). And the US RDA of Vitamin C is barely enough to prevent scurvy, and far from enough to protect every cell. A woman's body does not thrive on hormones extracted from horse urine. And your head does NOT hurt because of an aspirin deficiency. Antibiotics are ha...Expand for more
rmful. (Use garlic or silver instead.) Chemotherapy and radiation treatment should be against the law! And you do NOT have to give the IRS your money. (Read the Constitution.) And on top of that, what we consider money has no real value at all. There's more to life than money. And if more of us had faith in God, we wouldn't be raising gun-toting, drug-using children. Alzheimer's is not a normal part of aging, neither is losing your teeth or the ability to stand tall. Humans were not intended to be avid meat eaters. We don't even have the right kind of teeth and our intestines are much too long! The cases of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer are not skyrocketing by coincidence - these are lifestyle diseases - the result of what we want, do, think, and EAT! Our bodies were built for nutrition! Isn't that obvious, or is it just me? You may think you can't live without that tender sirloin steak, but I'm here to tell you that you're wrong. It's hard to fathom the misery of cancer until you've had it or lost someone you love. And I've spent weeks at the bedside of dying people, including my late fiance, Adam. And seeing him cry in pain and in regret as he held his daughter for the last time gave my life a brand new meaning. My dad can't go anywhere without oxygen, yet my mom still smokes behind our backs. It's hard for me to accept that some people just don't care. And it's disturbing every time "mom" shows up on my caller ID, I fear one of them is dead. Teach by example. And don't take anyone's word for anything, including mine. The truth is always available for those who take the time. Teach your children to appreciate life and love over money. If we don't take responsibility for our own lives, who will? The world's run amuck, and I'm just getting started. I'm truly not criticizing, I'm just being open-hearted. It's your life. It's our world. And it's God's gift. What are you gonna do?
