Jacqueline's Story
Life
I worked at B. F. Goodrich in Purchasing Div until the birth of our first son; then I was a stay-at-home mom while we raised our five children - four sons and one daughter. We moved to Freedom OH in 1967 and then to Georgia in 1976. I began working as Admin. Asst. to the Pastor at First Baptist Church in Warrenton in 1979. I finally received my college degree in 1991 - better late than never! I am a cancer survivor having had surgery in 1973. I am active in American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" in our community. I have taught Sunday School for 40 years and my present class of young ladies for 27 ye...Expand for more
ars. Our daughter is in my class. In addition, I now teach a program called First Place. It is a Christian weight-loss/nutrition class. It is quite fulfilling to lead this group. I also volunteer with the Brown Bag Program in our community. It provides food to the very poorest of our senior citizens. One son, one daughter-in-law, Kermit, and I sing in the church choir. I am one of the soloists. My work at the church was very intersting and fulfilling. I retired in March 2003 after 24 years, 2 months, and 12 days. (But who's counting?) Kermit and I have been married since 1957. God has been very good to us!!
