Life
Pam Schofield - Kitsilano, Vancouver, B.C. Canada
Married 13 years to Kent Lewis (English Literature professor at Capilano College)
2 boys: Shayden age 11 and Kai age 8 (home birth)
We had a female border collie cross for 12 years (Kismet), and now own two brown tabbies Dot (female) and Dash (male).
I am currently teaching 4 days a week (Fridays are off  Yay!) at Emily Carr Elementary School as a Resource Teacher.
After I graduated from high school I worked as a house painter for College Pro painters during the summer and then I eventually completed my B Ed at UBC as well as a special education diploma and later took some courses in Outdoor Education, Plant Taxonomy and Entomology.
I moved to Edmonton for a year and taught autistic students at Allendale Elementary/Jr High School while taking courses at the University of Alberta.
I returned to Vancouver and worked as a substitute teacher (known as an EOC or Employee on Call) until I earned my continuing status. I have also taught at Tecumseh Annex, Mackenzie, Maple Grove, Henderson, and Kerrisdale Elementary.

ll went to live in Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan in 2003- 2004 for 10 months. We also visited to Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea and Kyoto in the Fall and Spring. It was a great experience and I canÂt wait to have another opportunity to return. We survived an 8.4 earthquake while we were there too. I can still speak and read enough Japanese to get by, but I am losing it as I donÂt get enough practice!
Outside of Canada and the Western states, I have also traveled to Costa Rica (honeymoon), Hawaii, the Baja Peninsula, and Thailand.
I lived in a townhouse in Kits on 4th Avenue for about 5 years then sold it to buy our current home near Broadway and MacDonald about 8 years ago. We also have a place we rent out in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast (complete with chickens!).
I had an MS attack in 2000 (numb from the chest down) and a second in November of 2005 (left arm became very weak and slow to respond). I have recovered almost fully from both attacks and have so far avoided any medications (I just try to avoid too much stress).
My current passions are the same old ones: books, travel
