Kathleen's Story
Life
Wow, where to start. I have been meaning to do this for a long time. I have been married for 20 years. We have two daughters 17 and 20. We also have my sister Karen's two sons with us. They are 8 and 15. I have been a school crossing guard in Parma Heights for 12 years. I also work home games for the Cleveland Cavs and have been for 9 years. I also do a huge variety of other events at the Q. You can find me at the Cavs games, the Lake Erie Monsters Games, and now the Cleveland Gladiators games. I work concerts at Time Warner Cable Amphetheater and Blossom Music Center during the summer including working the Cleveland Orchestra concerts. I also coach softball in Parma Heights. I had to quit playing in 2003 when I was hit by a drunk driver and was injured. My husband had an accident in '97 while on strike with UPS which left him a parapeligic. He is still at UPS after taking 7 months off to adjust to his wheelchair. He is involved with instructing disabled people including children in boating. He has since then kayaked on Lake Erie. In the past couple years he has gotten heavily involved in wheelchair tennis. In 2007 he was ranked 2nd in the country in the B Division. My girls are very muscial and theatrical. They have been in many plays at Valley Forge High School. They were in Fiddler on the Roof together when my oldest daughter played the lead female role. Karen's boys are very athletic. nvolved with wrestling and took 3rd place in the Pioneer Conference Tournament this year. He will be starting in Freshman football at Forge this year. Our oldest daughter is currently attending Ohio Weslyeyan in Delaware, Oh. She is of course employed at the theater there and was hired as an R.A. her sophmore year. Our 17 year old daughter is at Valley Forge High School, which is where my husband graduated from. She wants to attend Baldwin Wallace and major in Math and music. Karen's youngest son is just begining his elementary school adventures and her 15 year old is just getting through his first year of High School. My sister Karen passed away in 2004 as some may know from her classmates. I have posted a photo album in memory of her and as I find more current pictures I add them. I am happy to share information about her with anyone. Her sons came to live with us gradually. We adopted her youngest son before she died and her oldest came to live with us just shortly after she died. Since her oldest son's father died in 2006 our home is his home permenently. I have to say that it is odd to sit and try to recap over 20 years of my life even if I am only trying to hit the highlights. I have stayed in contact with Patty McLaughlin...Patranc now, but have had limited contact with anyone else that I went to school with. If you would like to reach me just send a note through here. Has it really been 25+ years since we gratuated?
