Jennifer's Story
Hi! Here's an update for my friends from high school and college. (and maybe you'll learn something you didn't know about me, who knows!) After high school, I continued studying Art at WOU (WOSC then). Partway through college I changed schools for a while (CCC), which is where I met my husband. We later went back to college at WOU to get our bachelor degrees. I switched my major to Economics and kept Art as my minor.
I have been creating and selling realistic horse sculptures (and some scale miniature saddles), and do a little web site work for myself and people we know. I wish I had more time to do flatwork (paintings). I make beaded jewelry using natural stones, and plan to get my own horse designs going soon. I have also taken up scrapbooking, most recently digital scrapping (which, with Photoshop, opens up all kinds of artistic possibilities, so fun!). So I am making use of all my fine art, graphic art, and economics/business training in many ways (some unexpected).
We have two boys who keep me pretty busy. I still enjoy playing piano when I have time....Expand for more
In recent years I have even taken the leap to play offertories in church occasionally. I drive a truck now (a blue Honda Ridgeline, LOVE it!). Sadly, I couldn't keep my '67 Mustang forever. But I have a real live horse now, even better! I have been able to pursue my lifelong dream of horseback riding off and on since getting married. I have become a dressage enthusiast, and hope to slowly work my way up through the levels. I have a little Thoroughbred who is sweet and fun to ride.
Well, enough about me... I'd sure love to hear from old friends! Some I have searched for on the internet and not found ANYWHERE. Especially friends from my first years at WOSC/WOU! You can find me by searching Jennifer Kistler (there aren't too many with that name) Right now I don't have the paid membership to Classmates, so if you sign my guestbook or something, I probably won't get to find out. :-)
By the way, if anyone knows the whereabouts of a painting that was stolen from me in high school, I'd love to have it back. It was a particularly meaningful one to me. Thanks!
