Melissa's Story
Life
For those of you who might not remember me, I was always called Missy in school. My family moved out of Alaska just after my 7th grade year at Ryan. I then moved back to live with my Dad after my folks divorced just in time for 11th grade at Lathrop.
Well, in '85 my boyfriend and I moved to Hawaii for a couple of years. Then we were off to California where we settled in for almost 13 years, just until our divorce was imminent. I packed my things up, loaded the car on a towing dolly and my cat and I moved on in '99. As much as I would like to have children, we luckily didn't have any to put through that. I decided to move back home to Wisconsin where most of my family is. Sometimes you just need the comfort that only family can provide.
I met my current husband via a chat room on the Internet just before I moved back to WI. Since we met he has restored my faith in love and relationships. (Tim is also everything I haven't had before in a man.) We'...Expand for more
ve had our bumps and stumbles, but then nobody ever said life was perfect. We learn from our challenges. I am glad he kept asking, so I could finally say yes.
I went back to Tech School in '05 to study for Comp Svc Tech and the challenge of something new was great. I still go part time nights, but it has led to new job opportunities already. In fact I just started a new job and am being groomed for a Tech Manager position at a 3 years young support firm in the Milwaukee area. Now my husband and I just need to get moved to that area so I don't have such a terrible commute (1.5 hrs)!
Life is good for me/us. I am happy. I take one day at a time and strive to enjoy each and every one. I have a close knit family, a great circle of friends (old and new, near and far) and a place to call home.
I hope life has been good to you as well. If you are taking the time to read this I hope you will email me as well! I love to hear from long lost friends!
