Monique's Story
I reside in the Chi Town area. I am a graduate of St. Thaddeus Elementary School (81), Seton H.S. (85), Clarke College (89) with B. A. in Theatre and Governor's State University (05) with M. A. in Educational Administration.
I have worked in education for about 18 years as a teacher, Fine Arts Coordinator and currently serve as Principal of an elementary charter school in Chicago. I have also performed in musical theatre pretty much all of my life,
In Dec. of 2007 I was the featured vocalist for 9 concerts in Rome, Italy. In Jan. of 2008 I performed on the National Tour of Menopause the Musical traveling as far as Alaska and Hawaii. I pe...Expand for more
rformed 8 shows a week for 13 weeks in 6 cities on that tour. Most recently, I was an understudy for Chicago's Goodman Theater production of "Ain't Misbehavin" where I had the opportunity to perform the Nell Carter role three times during the run. Beginning in Sept. of '08, I will be performing in the 11 week East Coast tour of Menopause the Musical-Out Loud benefiting Breast Cancer Research. In December '08 I will be returning to Italy as a featured vocalist.
I feel very blessed to have realized most of my dreams! In the future, I plan to do some artistic / educational consulting work as well as open a Christian based Fine Arts School.
