Mary's Story

Life Visit LeeAndMary.Com for more info about me. Basically, after leaving high school I just continued on to college. The following year my mom had brain surgery because of a brain tumor. They managed to remove 90% of it. My father died within a month of her coming home from the hosptial. Because of my mother's illness and my father's death the family business was thrown into my lap to run for mine and my mother's well being. I remained going to college yet at a very very slow pace. Six months later I bump into a quiet bookworm soft spoken type like myself and get lost in those blue eyes of his. It was love at first site. All the fireworks etc. Fass forward another six months. My mother is better and is working again and even dating. Next thing I know my blue eyed love asks me to marry him the day before my 20th birthday. You bet I said yes. After the engagement, I transferred to USF and kind of lost myself there as a microbiology major and really became burnt out at school. I was really interested in cancer drugs and wanted to go to pharmacy school; however, USF put up enough walls for me on everything. I really had to step back and regroup of what I wanted in life. I wanted to be a wife to my love and I wanted to have a job that makes me feel like I helped someone at the end of the day. In the mean time, my mother married a pro golfer in the midst of this...yeah that was a shocker. She never was a girlie girl...but now her house is painted pink and she wears make up and has long hair...really crazy compaired to when I was in school...lol. Anyway, I slowed it down a bit when I got married June 20, 2004. We had a romantic candle lit wedding under a iron and stone gazebo at Universal Studio's Portofino ...Expand for more
Bay. It was very lavish and really over the top. In fact, Staci Savoy aka Staci Dillman was my Matron of Honor. We honeymooned there for two weeks and came back to the real world. We moved to a house three doors down from my mother so I could be clost to her. I eventually found my muse in love which is in the rehabilitation of the deaf and hard of hearing. I am studying communication disorders (you know like people cannot hear, speak, etc) at USF now in their CSD program. I will in 2007 start the audiology graduate program at USF. A very good peer of mine at USF and I are planning on opening a speech patholgist contracting business in addition once we both finish our education. I have been given a seat also in the University College of London to study this summer disorders. I don't know if I will go or not because I cannot stand the thought of being with out my husband for 10 weeks. My husband, Lee, and I celebrated our first anniversary back at Portofino a couple months ago. Lee is truly a gift from God. Being married to him is the most wonderful experience I have ever had. He is such a kind and good hearted man. I can now understand why God wanted people to marry and to experience the depth of love of a union and how its reflection of how God loves us and depth of His love for us. Lee works for a local software company developing software and computer systems that run the pharmacy and the prenatal and neonatal units of the hosptials. Staci Savoy aka Staci Dillman is still my best friend in the whole world. Lee and I actually Godparents to her little boy Trever. Children for Lee and I? Hmmm...well maybe 10 years from now. Our little "child" for now is a bichon frise called Romeo that we both love dearly.
