Jack's Story
Life
After attending West University Elementary, Alexander Hamilton Jr. High and John Reagan High Schools in Houston, I attended Texas A&M. There, in the class of 1958, I obtained a B S degree in Mechanical Engineering and an officerÂs commission in the U.S. Army. I then served 2 years in the field artillery, most of it in the 1st Armored Division at Ft. Hood, Texas. From there, I moved to the Dallas area and became employed with the Vought Aircraft Co. I stayed with Vought for 33 years, finally retiring on 30 April 1994.
While with Vought in Dallas, I had several engineering assignments to other aircraft companies, including Lockheed, Boeing and Northrop. During, I participated in the designs of several of their airplanes, both military and commercial. My specialty became the design of crew stations, cockpits, or flight decks as they are called in commercial airplanes. One effort that I am particularly proud of was getting to lead the conceptual design of the top secret B-2 Spirit stealth bomber crew stations for Northrop in California.

t military: I stayed in the army reserve until circa 1966 and then transferred into the Navy reserve. I became an aircraft engineering and maintenance officer assigned to a F-8 fighter squadron based in Dallas. That squadron, with me in it, was recalled to active duty in 1968. That active duty lasted only 10 months but got me some sea duty on the USS Ranger. So having been in two different services, I feel very involved on VeteranÂs Day. I retired from the Navy after 20 years in the military reserves.
Married to Carol since 1973, I now, in 2021, have 4 sons, a daughter, 12 grandkids and 2 great grands. All are precious to me. Much of my time is spent on grandkid stuff. I also spend time volunteering for our city of Duncanville, playing card games, visiting with friends, church activities, occasional travel, reading history and just tinkering.
Blessed with very good health and grateful to God for that and a relatively good life, let me thank you for your interest and invite you to send me an e-mail because I would definitely like to learn about you.
