John's Story
Life
I moved to North Carolina after graduating from college. I worked at a small private school as a teacher, coach (Girl's Volleyball, Boys Basketball and Baseball) and administrator (athletic director, Ass't Headmaster and Headmaster) for 23 years until a new group took over the board and moved school in a new direction. Then I taught U.S. History at the only Catholic High School in Raleigh and help in the Athletic Department. I returned to coaching by helping with the baseball program as Head Junior Varsity coach then Freshmen Head Coach for fifteen years. I played golf once a week for several years.

I am also an Elder in the First Reformed Church of Cary which has been organized as a RCA Congregation since 1981. I've been off and on consistory for many years including as Vice-President during our search for our second and third pastors. Tt was time at the age of 71 to retire from the classroom after not liking the new methods of teaching during the pandemic, I missed the personal contact. I still remain involved in the Baseball program as I have been Head Freshman coach for the past five seasons. I don't know what the future holds but through my faith, I hope God will find a use for me in the years ahead
