Steve's Story
Life
I'm living in Rio Frio, TX (pop. 78). My wife, Shawn, and I have a 13-yr old daughter and an 11-yr old son. Life is grand! We are about 3 miles north of Garner State Park along the Frio River.
After spending 19 years with Hewlett-Packard (HP), I'm now working for a much smaller company doing exactly what I did for HP, only now my biggest competition is HP. I really enjoy competing with them and winning. I sell services for HP computer systems. Not PCs, but mainly Unix servers that companies use to run their businesses.
Shaw has her own Real Estate company, Frio Canyon Real Estate, in Leakey. You can find her at friocanyonrealestate.com.
Jacy is in the 8th grade this year and Jake is in the 46th grade. Both of them attend Leakey's only school with a student enrollment of about 250 from K-12.
We really like small-town living and being 40 miles from the nearest traffic light.
We are very involved in our community. Shawn and I are both volunteers for the Frio Canyon EMS. I'm ...Expand for more
a volunteer EMT and serve about 40-60 hours per week (nights and weekends). Shawn is an ambulance driver. We are both very active in our neighborhood association too. We live in a 1000-acre gated neighborhood with only 7 full-time families living here. The other 23 property owners visit from time to time and we've become good friends with several of them. We are both very active with the Leakey PTO. Jacy is the Captain of the JH Cheerleaders and was recently accepted into The University of Texas' GeoForce Program. She participated in Volleyball, Basketball, and Track this year. I've coached my son's Little League baseball teams and soccer teams for several years. Jake got to play Junior High football this year due to there not being enough 7th and 8th Grade boys to make a team. He started on offense and defense. He also competed in the Science Fair at Leakey and advanced to the Regional Science Fair in San Antonio where he was awarded 3rd place.
