Barbara's Story
Life
I now live in Tustin, California about 15 minutes from Disneyland. I moved here 25 years ago after living in Virginia and Germany. I am married and have two grown daughters and four grandchildren. I have kept in touch with Carol Rakow Mizgorski and through her with Amy Sloan Perry.
My husband and I are involved in Catholic Engaged Encounter as a Presenting couple. This is a ministry to engaged couples.
Workplace
I started working after Robert Morris at Kruman Equipment company in Pittsburgh and then worked at Bell of PA for 6 years before I left to have my daughter. I was a stay at home Mom until we returned from Germany in 1976 - then I returned to school and worked as the Executive Secretary at the Orange County Bar Association. tor and then became a Regulatory Affairs Specialist for Baxter's Cardiovascular Division and received my BSBA in 1991. In 1996, I retired from Baxter and took a 3 day a week job with Inner Space Medical as their European Regulatory Person. Inner Space laid everyone off a year later and I went to work for a medical dental company in 'Brea called Vident. I do all of their regulatory work with the FDA, ISO certification, auditing etc.
My husband and I retired on July 7, 2007 and it was the best thing we ever did. We are busier than ever but with projects that interest us. We continue to be involved in Engaged Encounter Weekends and I voluteer at a local hospital in the cancer center and gift shop. Dick stays busy with projects around the house and doing things like helping friends with computer problems or setting up their electronic gadgets. He is helping our oldest grandson build a computer and he is my chef!
